Hey folks, Last week I mentioned these folks: http://www.jcam.com/ ...they have a JAVA thingy to talk to you digital camera. I (and I think several otherse) sent them a note asking for FreeBSD support, and so far I've received three emails from them saying "It's on the way!" A really responsive group of people. So...I presume within a week or so there will be a FreeBSD version of this. I'll keep the list posted.
