After browsing around briefly, I found this, which lo and behold, has optical, as well as coax, connections. http://www.soundblaster.com/sound/i-o-card/ And add on for the Live. Great. Still no FreeBSD support though, but hopefully this will get done eventually through the Open Sound System. If you, like me, are a little niave about multimedia and unix then the following is worth a look. http://www.4front-tech.com/oss.html The Live gets a mention, but support is not expected anytime very soon.
