First let me mention, that I am using the FreeBSD sendmail default, I I use Postfix, but it should still work. > So I went, installed the port, set my password using saslpasswd, I read the > readme file and it said something about a config file being in > /usr/lib/sasl/sendmail.conf or something... but there isn't even a sasl Most of the stuff will be found under /usr/local/ Sendmail.conf is in /usr/local/lib. I have only one line there: pwcheck_method: pwcheck > (http://www.sendmail.org/~ca/email/auth.html) ... I am totally stumped... > but I will keep trying! You are a trooper for keeping it up. The first time was hard I remember, but cyrus is really solid and worth the initial learning curve. make sure in /etc/inetd.conf you have this: # The IMAP-4 server. imap4 stream tcp nowait cyrus /usr/local/cyrus/bin/imapd imapd Try and connect with cyradm (with pwcheck running): cyradm -user username server If that doesn't work, keep trying on the list. You will get there. jpc To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
