I use Postfix, but it should still work.

Most of the stuff will be found under /usr/local/

Sendmail.conf is in /usr/local/lib.  I have only one line there:

pwcheck_method: pwcheck

You are a trooper for keeping it up.  The first time was hard I remember, but
cyrus is really solid and worth the initial learning curve.

make sure in /etc/inetd.conf you have this:

# The IMAP-4 server.
imap4   stream  tcp nowait  cyrus   /usr/local/cyrus/bin/imapd  imapd

Try and connect with cyradm (with pwcheck running):

cyradm -user username server

If that doesn't work, keep trying on the list.  You will get there.
