The machine was originally a Windows box, now running 3.4-STABLE from about a month ago. On my 4.0 machine, I see aureal.c, so I assume an upgrade would be necessary to get any support whatsoever (especially after multiple configuration attempts without a successful probe on 3.4). My question, though, is, is the Vortec-2 supported? Or is the first generation only supported? (Or, does anyone know if the -2 is backward compatible with the -1? This is the single speaker-out model). The only answers in the mailing lists that I found were a few months old, and I didn't bother checking commit history, but aureal.c/h are dated at the end of Jan. So, is it worth the upgrade? (No need to start another thread on the stability of 4.0.. this is a non-critical desktop machine :-) Thanks, - Ryan -- Ryan Thompson Systems Administrator, Accounts Phone: +1 (306) 664-1161 SaskNow Technologies http://www.sasknow.com #106-380 3120 8th St E Saskatoon, SK S7H 0W2 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
