As near as I can figure, my problem is that my chipset, which works as pcic in OLDCARD, is somehow not fully supported as cbb in GENERIC. Can someone who understands this low-level stuff please let me know whether cbb has been (or will be) improved to work here? As it stands now, I'm afraid to cvsup -STABLE, leaving me permanently stuck at 5.3-R. With GENERIC, I see this: cbb0: mem 0x50103000-0x50103fff irq 11 at device 2.0 on pci0 cardbus0: on cbb0 pccard0: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb0 cbb1: mem 0x50102000-0x50102fff irq 11 at device 2.1 on pci0 cardbus1: on cbb1 pccard1: <16-bit PCCard bus> on cbb1 pccard0: Card has no functions! cbb0: PC Card card activation failed pccard1: Card has no functions! cbb1: PC Card card activation failed With OLDCARD, I see this: pcic0: mem 0x50103000-0x50103fff irq 11 at device 2.0 on pci0 pcic0: TI12XX PCI Config Reg: [ring enable][speaker enable][pwr save][CSC parallel isa irq] pcic0: [GIANT-LOCKED] pccard0: on pcic0 pcic1: mem 0x50102000-0x50102fff irq 11 at device 2.1 on pci0 pcic1: TI12XX PCI Config Reg: [ring enable][speaker enable][pwr save][CSC parallel isa irq] pcic1: [GIANT-LOCKED] pccard1: on pcic1 pccard: card inserted, slot 0 pccard: card inserted, slot 1 Thanks, Dave
