IMHO there's none really as detecting changes to files requires that the
program (Tripwire or alternates) examines each and every file in your
system.  that taxes the hd system which is somewhat like what buildworld
does to your hd.

in my ids box i use tripwire but that is a P100 with 64MB ram and 1GB hd.
