Pretty small explanation ;) And a point that could cause some confusion, you do /NOT/ need to register a domain to run a DNS server. Anyone can run named on their machine. Anyone can provide local DNS for their own net without registering a domain. It's only if you want to pass information to the outside world that you need to register a domain.
