The following reply was made to PR sparc64/119017; it has been noted by GNATS. From: "Andrew Grillet" <andrew@grillet.co.uk> To: bug-followup@freebsd.org, andrew@grillet.co.uk Cc: Subject: Re: sparc64/119017: 7.0 Beta won't install on U60 Date: Sun, 30 Dec 2007 23:12:20 -0000 7.0-RC1 installs without the problem. However, I used OpenBSD to zero the entire label before attemting the install, so that may have been the fix. I still think that FreeBSD disklabel needs a command to zap the label area and write a fresh boot one, unconditionally and immediately. If nothing else it removes a host of unknowns from bug reports like this! Andrew -- Using Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/mail/
