https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D260299 --- Comment #6 from Mark Millard <marklmi26-fbsd@yahoo.com> --- (In reply to Allan Jude from comment #5) And looking at Discord's ports area, people are doing that because other people tell them that latest will get rid of old-vintage problems that folks do not want when they ask about such. No one that comments seems to know otherwise up front. It looks like tech-lists@zyxst.net submitted this after trying to help someone on Discord that had already tried using latest based on such expectations. The vintage issue was noticed (in part?) by the lack of the modern .pkg / .txz pairing. https://docs.freebsd.org/en/books/handbook/ports/ gives no hint that latest might not be maintained/updated. So it adds to folks expectations and confusions in contexts where quarterly has the most regularly updated builds available. Folks reference and are pointed to that content as well. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
