In the current ports collection in the directory /usr/ports/x11/kde2 there is a port of KDE 1.90 (pre2) available. After having deinstalled my old KDE (pkg_delete -f <all_the_kde11_stuff>) I decided to try out this version. Compilation and installation all ran well, but now there are some problems. I'd basically like to know if anybody's already tried out this port and if it works for them or if they are also getting problems. Here's the problem I have noticed on my FreeBSD 4.0-STABLE system: - An attempt to start the KDE Configuration Wizard fails. Instead, the KDE Crash handler appears on the screen, telling me that the Configuration Wizard had crashed with Signal 11 (SIGSERV). The same happens when trying to start the rather important application "konqueror". Otherwise the KDE seems to run fine. I know that the version I have installed is to be regarded as unstable, but I'd like to know if these bugs are really there in this version and I can't do anything about it, or if I've probably done something wrong that's causing these problems. So, any information on experiences with the kde2-port are welcome. Greetings, Nils To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
