Subject: 3.4 Won't change root device!

I just moved up to 3.4 from 2.2.8, I completely wiped the hard drive, to
give me a good clean install. When I rebooted, it stops after probing the
devices saying "Changing root device to wd0s1f", and stops for about 20
minutes. It then drops me into single user mode. I tried the suggestion in
the trouble.txt file, but to no avail because it just had a question, no
answer. I am running 1 IDE HDD, 16 megs of ram, NE2000 comp. card, generic
VGA card, and a generic I/O card (w/ HDD controller), this is all on a
486-33.
If you can help thanks.
