Actually, now I have the Brooktree datasheet (thanks Amancio) I can
see that there are more registers that need to be set differently for
PAL, in particular the scaling registers and the AGC and burst delay
register (the colour subcarrier frequency is different).

I will try this later today and let you know.

This table agrees exactly with mine for channels 21-69, which are the
only ones used in the UK.  These channels also seem be the same elsewhere
in Western Europe.

Some of the other channels in the Philips list correspond to those
listed for PAL B/G at the URL above; I suspect the Philips list
reflects Dutch/German channels.
