BTW: last night I found that the instructions for 3.1-RELEASE are 
incorrect.  Put the stuff from the bin directory into c:\bin, not 
c:\freebsd\bin.  I had no success with the latter, but the former worked 
for me.  I've sent a msg to the freebsd-doc mailing list regarding this.
