WC CDROM did the > trick. I had a similar experience, and you're right, mentioning Walnut Creek seemed to work. Unfortunately, you have to call the local hotel to get reservations, and not the toll-free national hotline. The hotel in Berkeley doesn't have a toll free number, so after sitting on hold with the Berkeley Radission for 15 minutes, burning long distance money, I decided to call the national reservations hotline. They told me I had to call the reservations desk at the Berkeley Radission. Another thing I found out is that the reservations desk there is only open Monday through Friday (not sure about the hours). If you call on a weekend, the front desk people can't make the reservation because it's for a conference. Anyway, I was finally able to make the reservation, by calling on a Monday morning...
