Probably.  But without logs or at least a backtrace from the crash, it
will be hard to determine exactly where the problem lies.

Can you send me the output of:

find /usr/X11R6/lib -name "*.so" | xargs ldd
find /usr/local/lib -name "*.so" | xargs ldd
