Alright, I'm downloaded and installed ( or so I think ) XFree86 from their site in binary form for FreeBSD 4.x. I ran the script as said, sh Xinstall.sh, and answered its questions by using almost all of the defaults. After it says done, I then type "XFree86 -configure" as suggested by the tutorial which then spits out some info telling me that I seem to be good to go. So then I cd over to /usr/ports/x11/kde3 and type 'make install clean' and this is what I get. met# cd /usr/ports/x11/kde3 met# make install clean ===> Extracting for KDE-3.0.2_1 >> No MD5 checksum file. ===> KDE-3.0.2_1 depends on file: /usr/X11R6/bin/moc - not found ===> Verifying install for /usr/X11R6/bin/moc in /usr/ports/x11-toolkits/qt30 ===> qt-3.0.5_1 is marked as broken: The QT 3.x port does not support any XFree86 < 4.x. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/x11-toolkits/qt30. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/x11/kde3. met# ======================= All I want to do is setup KDE 3.0 and Qt 3.0 so I can start doing some development with the two.
