Of course, with a volunteer developer team it's impossible to give iron-clad assurances, but there are a lot of developers who are interested in seeing alpha continue to be well-supported by FreeBSD. In terms of specific hardware support, it is basically down to what hardware the developers have access to: support for a specific hardware platform requires that at least one developer has access to it and has the time, skill and motivation (perhaps financially-backed) to work on it.
