This is cryptically discussed in "The Complete FreeBSD Guide", page 131. What I did was find my monitor, cut the suggested 'modelines' and paste them into the XF86Config file. Things got better fast then. Good luck dg ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Troubles with Xf86Setup Author: wildcardus freakis at Internet Date: 12/18/98 10:52 AM Actually my problem is with x in general. I can run xf86setup and have a good setup it will start the server and everything...When I try to start xdm or xinit I get 3 flashes of the screen and then the xdm or xinit Zombies, or hangs. No errors that I can find are generated except with xinit sometimes it will come up and say something to the effect of 'no modes could be found" when I have done a mode select in Xf86setup, and have it work correctly. Any clues?
