> i broke down the cruft in seedrandom. if i boot single > user, echo foo > /dev/random, mount -a, start bash, stir > come chicken entrails, .. and the issue > sysctl -a > it hangs and, if i remove the sysctl -a from preseedrandom and from initrandom, it boots and runs. note, this is a T40p with acpi. i mention the acpi because if i halt this system, it syncs etc. but then hangs after the stopping acpi comment. randy
