The search list is nor‐ mally determined from the local domain name; by default, it contains only the local domain name. My hostname is 42.pl, same as domain name, but I guess some code simply chops off first component and domain name was automatically set to "pl" and getent found "create.pl". How about not chopping off first component in such a case? :) In addition to not resolving ifconfig command names? :)
