I'll try again, here. I just bought a Gravis Ultrasound MAX. I initialized the card in DOS and FreeBSD recognizes it on boot. I cat an au file to /dev/audio and the file plays OK... but cat never returns and BAD noises occur. Is this a known problem for GUS? Card works OK under DOS. rsynth has the same problem.
