If u select FreeBSD NFS server, then select FreeBSD nfs clients, and run realserver [of linux] there. Linux emulation is very handy and produces good results there. In any case you will have to tune up the NFS server/client with a lot of trial and error..it took me over a month to find the optimal parameters for my cluster...
