	After the gnome 2.10 update (using the gnome_update.sh script from freebsd.org) xfce4-session doesn't work again, if you run xfce4 trought xinit app by app instead of running startxfce4 (witch runs xcfe4-session) all works fine (but without some features).

Update your FreeBSD with gnome_update.sh and try to run startxfce4.
