If you want to automatically spread the load, then you probably need to get/write some fancier print scheduling software. But if starting print jobs without consideration of current print load is sufficient, any Unix system can do that, and a SysV-based system may even handle the scheduling problem (if you can tolerate the other aspects of the SysV print system).
