Not sure what which direction to go with these two > tasks? > If you're a command line sort of person then scp complements ssh; and if you're using Putty at the Windows end you'll find an scp compatible utility in the package. If you like to point and click then you can set up ftp access through 'network places' on Windows that looks much like normal file access in Windows explorer. Here some 9 or 10 hours ahead of UTC Windows gets a bit confused by the UTC dates presented by unix and sees it as some time in the future, knows that can't be right so dates the file as a year old. If you are the other side of UTC I don't imagine this is a problem. Malcolm
