These sorts of questions belong on questions@freebsd.org, but I won't mind
too terribly.

Actually, no.  If it's a PCI card, you'll get a new instance of the driver
loaded automatically.  if it's an ISA card, though, you'll have to rebuild
your kernel, which is fully described in the Handbook.

What brand/model of card are you installing?
