This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0009_01C0612E.C3E357A0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I just installed FreeBSD 4.2 and I can't get it to use the correct name server. I created the file /etc/resolve.conf and put my domain and name server's address in it, but when I do anything that involves a DNS lookup it queries the local machine. What am I missing? This is a dumb question that I should know the answer to but it has always worked out of the box for every other installation I have done. ------=_NextPart_000_0009_01C0612E.C3E357A0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.00.2920.0" name=3DGENERATOR></HEAD> <BODY> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2><SPAN class=3D301494504-08122000>I just = installed=20 FreeBSD 4.2 and I can't get it to use the correct name server.
