If you look at the internals of BRU by EST software they compress the data but not the directory portion of the stream. So the files wind up on the tape like /kernel.Z /core.Z /bin/cp.Z ect You can reset yourself with the uncompressed directory header. Had to do this a few times. Regards, Mark Hittinger bugs@win.net
