hi guys,

i'm trying XFree86 4.x for the first time ... i installed it from
packages and run:

XFree86 -configure then i did copy the XF86Config.new to
/etc/X11/XF86Config ... startx is workiong fine it's just i need to change
the modes ... i tried Ctrl+Alt with -/+ but it's not working.

the other problem i have is ... startx only runs as root when i try startx
as a user it fails and give me this error:

giving up.
xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

hope one of you cvan help me,

thanks,
