I tired set ''device /dev/cuaa1''

I've fixed the problem.  I setup sio2 (com3) in the kernel and set
ppp.conf to use cuaa2 and I was able to dial right in. I'm guessing there
was a conflit with the motherboards built in serial ports, regaudless it
works.  Thanks!
