When attempting to use gvim under vnc vim fails. Everything is fine when I log in normally (console and startx) however when I run gvim under VNC with the -V5 option I get the following message: finished sourcing /usr/local/share/vim/vim61/syntax/syntax.vim continuing in /home/ptacek/.gvimrc Testing the X display failed Hit ENTER or type command to continue and then it loads in standard (non gui) mode. All other programs seem to work (xterm, mozilla, xemacs, etc). This seems to be localized to gvim. I had been running FreeBSD 3.2 and the latest (or recent) VIM and VNC without any issues. I am guessing it has something to do with the newer versions of XFree86 installed on FreeBSD 4.7. Anyone else have a similar setup working or experiencing similar issues? - Chris To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
