I never did a huge amount of testing (which is why I never submitted a pr), so it may be. I don't see any likely candidates, though, since the differences in setup between wormcontrol and cdrecord are slim. Even so, since the failure locks up my SCSI bus, and wormcontrol works fine, I saw no real need to spend the time and effort to troubleshoot the problem.
