I'm looking at a CRD-5500 SCSI to SCSI RAID controller. One of
its features is that you can connect up to four computers to the
controller and allow them to share access to the same files.

What are the OS implications (for FreeBSD in particular) of such a
setup? Naturally, you'd want to mount the volume read-only on all
but one of the systems. But how would it affect the OS to have it
mounted on multiple machines simultaneously?

Thanks,
Dave
