How did you do the install? My quad G5 is in a screaming fan loop right now. The installer seems to boot up fine to a point where sata devices are being discovered. Then the screaming fans begin. > > (I do get occasional freezes though which I haven't been able to pinpoint, > which seem to happen soon after boot sometimes. But they also happened with > 12.2, so no surprises there.) OKay. So what you are saying is that the beta2 is broken still on these old machines. Got it. I will try : set debug.rman_debug=1 set debug.verbose_sysinit=1 set usefdt=1 and then boot -v per Bug 238730 which was "fixed". See https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=238730 Also if you are curious : https://beta.genunix.com/freebsd/ppc64/freebsd_13.0_beta2_fans_screaming_20210213002813.jpg At this point the only option is to hit the power button and give a try at some boot options.
