	If this turns out to be a coding issue from the PostgreSQL
side of things (something that some sort of '#ifdef FreeBSD_SMP' sections
of code will fix), could you please submit appropriate patches to
pgsql-patches@postgresql.org?  

	Also, could you grab ahold of a copy of v6.1 out of 
ftp.postgresql.org/pub/6.1, which has major improvements over v6.0...
at least you'd be working with a more stable version of PostgreSQL :)
