One difference with my set-up is that this IBM model 300PL Crystal Audio doesn't work with ACPI, so I disable acpi.ko in device.hints (that is another problem I will take to the acpi folks). Btw I disable APM, too (the infamous "can't find /dev/apm" problem). I saw the reboot/shutdown was broken perhaps on Wednesday of this week. It was definitely broken yesterday, and obviously still broken today. But it was working earlier this week. Since I must use CTM to sync with -current, that's my best estimate as to when this was broken. Hope I can help somehow. -- Paul Seniura System Specialist State of Okla. D.O.T. --- Original Message --- Yesterday and today, I CVSup'ed and the reboot doesn't work anymore, something isn't work correct. The last week -CURRENT works fine, I can reboot. I tried to use GENERIC kernel and I still get the same result, so I am not sure what I should do next. Attaching the dmesg.txt here.. shutdown's -r and -p don't work, I had to press the power button to turn off and on by manual. It does shutdown clean like 'shutdown -h', thought. ====================================== # shutdown -r now [...] syncing disk, buffers remaining... 2 2 done Uptime: 3m24s [...halting here forever...] Debugger("manual escape to debugger") Stopped at Debugger+0x4e: xchgl %ebx,in_Debuger,0 db> trace Debugger(c085f94a,4,1,0,1) at Debugger+0x4e scgetc(c0952420,0,c0845e32,c2dc6780) at scgetc+0x41f sckbdevent(c09393a0,0,c0952420,c0625cb2,c0901ca0) at sckbdevent+0x1d0 atkbd_intr(c09393a0,0,cdcbdd14,c061c102,c09393a0) at atkbd_intr+0x2c atkbd_isa_intr(c09393a0,0,c08433e7,21f,c16c68d4) at atkbd_isa_intr+0x21 ithread_loop(c16c4500,cdcbdd48,c084324d,311,c16c4500) at ithread_loop+0x172 fork_exit(c061bf90,c16c4500,cdcbdd48) at fork_exit+0xb4 fork_trampoline() at fork_trampoline+0x8 --- trap 0x1, eip = 0, esp = 0xcdcbdd7c, ebp = 0 --- db> ====================================== Note: I copied above by hand.
