My plan is to run 7.0 and use ZFS on a number of regular SATA-=20= discs (some mixed I've already got). Anyways, the hardware list is the following right now: Gigabyte GA-G33-DS3R, G33, 8x internal SATA Intel Pro/1000PT PCIe Desktop Adapter 1000BaseT Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.67GHz 1333Mhz Socket LGA775, 4MB The mobo was featured on this (or if it was -stable or -current) a =20 while back, it was said that it worked good soo.. Well, I just want to double check since it would be nice to NOT have =20 problems for once (I've had a bad history with nForce mobos and their =20= disk controllers....) And as I've understood, the Intel network controllers should work =20 good too right? Also, I'm looking at memory.. I can get 4GB (2x2GB kit) of PC6400 =20 (800MHz) memory for about 116 euro (or ~$170), or I can get PC8500 =20 (1066Mhz which is the mobos max) for.. hm.. cant even find any 2Gb =20 sticks :/ Dont want any 1Gb sticks, only 4 slots on the mobo.. Well anyway, will i notice any difference in 800 vs 1066MHz? For the ZFS part (maybee wrong list), I was thinking of going with =20 mirrored vdevs (currently I got 6 disks, 3 pairs of different size/=20 model) in one big pool. Well, thanks for any opinions or suggestions! -- Johan Str=F6m Stromnet johan@stromnet.se http://www.stromnet.se/
