Hi Daniel, I run into the same problem when portupgrading from mc-4.5.54 to mc-4.5.55_3 on my web-server. Solution for me was make clean (all what belongs), install libslang from hand (/usr/ports/devel/libslang/) and rebuild mc. Take care for fine install of libiconv (I run into some problem there, too).
