I also sometimes have a prompt return delay after the system says the burning is complete. I don't know why you drive won't burn a good CD, and I'm no expert on burncd, but I concluded that the illegal request on a read table of contents was probably produced because the CD was a blank, and thus there was no table of contents on it? Perhaps someone more familiar with the code of burncd could better explain why this is. In any case, I still almost always get a good CD out of the deal.
