Hello freebsd-questions,

we still use FreeBSD 2.2.8-STABLE #0
  and we have user ppp "PPP Version 2.0 - $Date: 1999/02/25 20:08:10 $"
  constantly complaining like

un 16 20:57:36 gw ppp[19399]: Warning: iface_addr_Zap: ioctl(SIOCDIFADDR, 192.168.66.16): Can't assign requested address
Jun 16 21:00:06 gw ppp[19759]: Warning: iface_addr_Zap: ioctl(SIOCDIFADDR, 192.168.66.17): Can't assign requested address
Jun 16 21:02:42 gw ppp[20404]: Warning: iface_addr_Zap: ioctl(SIOCDIFADDR, 192.168.66.19): Can't assign requested address

what does it mean??? warum? porque?

  these addresses are assigned like

  set ifaddr 192.168.66.5 x.y.z.w 255.255.255.255

seems like kernel has some bugs? or ppp bugs?

Thanks in advance for any useful infomation/suggestions/advices
