In the never-ending campaign to minimize version numbers in port names, etc., isn't it time to retire the present occupant of misc/amanda (amanda 2.3.0.4) replace it by repo-copying misc/amanda24-server to misc/amanda, repo-copying misc/amanda24-client to misc/amanda-client, cleaning up the builds and deleting the residue? It seems pointless to carry a version of amanda that's considered all but obsolete on the amanda mailing list. Also, it would be very, very nice if the amanda port numbers were appended to /etc/services and /etc/inetd.conf (commented out as appropriate). As it stands right now, it's a royal (and error-prone) pain to set up on FreeBSD. -- jmc || MacroHard -- \ || the perfection of form over | ----------------------------------|| substance, marketing over | Web: http://www.borgsdemons.com || performance, and greed over | || design . . . | =====================================================================/ Public Key: http://www.borgsdemons.com/Personal/pgpkey.asc | =====================================================================\ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
