=2D----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 So, back in late January, I reported issues with updating from 5.1 to 5.2=20 on our quad-Xeon servers, and spinlock issues kept panic'ing the box at=20 random intervals, etc. To make a long story short, I reallocated the=20 traffic going to that box elsewhere, and recompiled the kernel w/=20 WITNESS, and it has been rock solid since (almost three weeks). =20 However, running under the "WITNESS protection program", has serious=20 performance drawbacks, and I would like to see if I can get back to=20 running a WITNESS-free kernel. I tried that when I updated to 5.2.1,=20 but after around 18 hours, it panic'ed again: =2D -=3D- =46atal double fault: eip =3D 0x8063eb08 esp =3D 0xfb12a000 ebp =3D 0xfb12a000 cpuid =3D 1; apic id =3D 01 panic: double fault cpuid =3D 1; Debugger("panic") Stopped at Debugger+0x55: xchgl %ebx,in_Debugger.0 db> tr Debugger(8085812b,1,8087268e,80939ee8,100) at Debugger+0x55 panic(8087268e,1,0,0,0) at panic+0x156 dblfault_handler(808ecfcc,1,60,8d324000,8090e800) at=20 dblfault_handler+0x8c db> panic panic: from debugger cpuid =3D 1; boot() called on cpu#1 Uptime: 18h38m1s =2D -=3D- Any Ideas?
