Sorry if this question may bother some.
I don't know where else to ask and get a response back.
My question reqards two routers.
One is a Cisco 2500 series and other is a cabletron router.
Cabletron router has an ip address of say 199.199.199.63 subnett
255.255.255.192
Cisco has a ip address say of 199.199.199.1 subnet mask of
255.255.255.192 .
I would like to use the cisco as a gateway. I wish to direct traffic to
the internal
network via frame over to one t1 and default traffic to the cabletron
router (.63) out to the net.
The two routers are connected to the same hub with a cross over cable
from the cabletron
router to the hub.
When i set up ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 199.199.199.63 nothing happens
except.
If I ping 199.199.199.63 from the cisco connected to the same hub with a
plan 10-base T
 I get a response
but from 255.255.255.0 or from 199.199.199.10. .10 is a termserver.

I'm thinking that you can't use .63 , something about the first and last
ip address
on a network.

Do I need to change the ip address of the Cabletron to .62 instead of
.63 subnet mask
of 255.255.255.192 ? Is there a problem with the cross over cable on
the
cabletron connection to the HUB.

Again sorry if this question bothers anyone.

Thank You to anyone who may have some answers for me.
