Strangely enough I would add that the problem doesn't occur on my work machine
(Thinkpad P52s) with (almost) the same card:

em0@pci0:0:31:6:        class=0x020000 card=0x225a17aa chip=0x15d88086 rev=0x21
hdr=0x00
    vendor     = 'Intel Corporation'
    device     = 'Ethernet Connection (4) I219-V'
    class      = network
    subclass   = ethernet


(only difference is "card=0x225c17aa" vs "card=0x225a17aa")
