There are plenty of ports without a named maintainer -- try: % grep 'ports@freebsd.org' /usr/ports/INDEX | \ perl -aln -F'\|' -e 'print $F[0];' By my count that's about 88 unclaimed ports at the moment -- less than 1% -- which is pretty good. Find one or more port that you like, and submit a PR claiming maintainership -- preferably updating or improving the port at the same time. Otherwise, here's the announcement of something that could very usefully have a place in the ports tree: http://lists.mysql.com/announce/174 Cheers, Matthew --=20 Dr Matthew J Seaman MA, D.Phil. 26 The Paddocks Savill Way PGP: http://www.infracaninophile.co.uk/pgpkey Marlow Tel: +44 1628 476614 Bucks., SL7 1TH UK --vtzGhvizbBRQ85DL Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQE/zJhQdtESqEQa7a0RAozSAJ47cOGjBUUijUm488nXrthYpjpfqACgg/CZ 0mgGee/yiquctDEbL4g2am0= =ppxW -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --vtzGhvizbBRQ85DL--
