I tried to build DBD::Oracle with Red Hat's Perl and an Oracle client
for Linux but didn't get it. I am not very familiar with databases, is
there any other way to connect to Oracle from native Perl?

This is needed for my current project at work, if I don't find a
workaround I would need to switch to Linux here :-(.
