I've verified that: include /boot/loader.4th start was in my loader.rc file and that: splash_bmp_load="YES" bitmap_load="YES" was in my /boot/loader.conf file. The way I understood it, since I'm using FreeBSD 3.4, I didn't think any extra lines for the loader.rc were needed. I copied the image (daemon_640.gif as /boot/splash.bmp) Now, when I reboot, no splash screen appears. Also, I had previously logged in as root and attempted to add "load -t splash_image_data /boot/splash.bmp" and "load splash_bmp" to my loader.rc file but Vi wouldn't let me save any changes. Can anyone help me get this straightened out? Thanks Joe To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
