What this actually does is disable splitting of debug info into separate fi=
les
under /usr/lib/debug, so instead the debug info is kept in /boot/kernel.  T=
he
name of the option (and its documentation in src.conf.5) is misleading.  To
omit debug info entirely you need to remove "makeoptions DEBUG=3D-g" from t=
he
kernel configuration (or add some additional configuration to strip debug i=
nfo
at installkernel time).
