You heard incorrectly. Lucent WaveLAN (now called "Orinoco") works just fine with BSD. What *doesn't* work with FreeBSD (yet) is Lucent's PCI adaptor for their WaveLAN/Orinoco cards. But if you have a PCMCIA slot (or an ISA slot), you should have no problems at all. Ross.
